There shall be a Fire Department, the head of which shall be the Chief of the Fire Department. The Fire Chief and the Assistant Fire Chief shall be appointed by the Board of Trustees. All members shall be nominated by the Fire Chief and appointed by the Board of Trustees, but any member may be dismissed by a majority vote of the members of the Board of Trustees. The Assistant Chief shall hold his or her office for a period of one year and until his or her successor is appointed and qualified.
