(A) Authority. The office manager may serve, if elected or appointed, as the Town Clerk and receive the salary set forth for Town Clerk for the performance of statutory duties, above and beyond the hourly rate paid for being office manager.
(B) Service optional. Nothing herein requires the office manager to also hold the position of Town Clerk. If the office manager chooses not to seek the office of Town Clerk or is not elected to the position of Town Clerk, the Board of Trustees may continue to employ the office manager in that position at the hourly rate set forth by the Board of Trustees.
