The oil and gas inspector shall have the authority to require the immediate shutting in or closing of any well if he or she finds that there exists, within a 100-foot radius of any well, any gas or gasoline vapor in a quantity sufficient to constitute, in his or her judgment, or in the judgment of the Town Fire Chief, a fire hazard. The well shall remain shut or closed in until the hazard and its cause are removed.
