If any person, firm or corporation owning or having possession of any car, truck or other vehicle which is seized and moved under the provisions of this chapter fails to claim said car, truck or other vehicle within 30 days from the date the same is seized and removed, and fails to pay the charges imposed therefor, the town is empowered to sell such car, truck or other vehicle at public auction, after advertising the same, as provided for in the foreclosure of liens for repair and storage of vehicles under the statutes of the state.
