§ 70.08 ACCIDENTS.
   (A)   Duty to give information. Every driver of a motor vehicle after participating in or causing an accident by collision or otherwise, or injuring any person or property, shall forthwith stop and give his or her name and address, the name and address of each occupant of the motor vehicle driven by himself or herself, and the license number of his or her vehicle, to any person demanding the same, and after affording every reasonable assistance to the injured person or animal report the accident forthwith to the police.
   (B)   Report.
      (1)   Damage to property. The driver of a vehicle which is in any manner involved in an accident in which it is apparent that damage to one vehicle or other property is in excess of $100 shall, as soon as practicable, report such accident to a police officer or to the Police Department.
      (2)   Injury. The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury or death of any person shall immediately, by the quickest means of communication, give notice of such accident to the local Police Department, if such accident occurs within a municipality, or to the office of the county sheriff or to the nearest office of the State Highway Patrol.
   (C)   State law. Every driver of a motor vehicle who is involved in an accident is further subject to such provisions as are set forth in 47 O.S. §§ 10-101 et seq.
