§ 70.20 EMERGENCIES.
   (A)   In the event of an emergency, utility repairs may be undertaken without first receiving a permit. However, in a utility emergency, the utility must notify the County Engineer as soon as possible, but in no case later than 24 hours after initiation of such repairs in the right-of-way. Notification during non-work hours may be made by fax or e-mail.
   (B)   All repairs conducted under an emergency shall be done in a safe manner generally meeting county and INDOT maintenance of traffic standards. Final repairs shall comply with county standards.
   (C)   An application for a permit and the associated fee must be filed with the County Engineer within 72 hours of the time the work is begun under an emergency.
