There shall be established and maintained a local health department known as the County Health Department, and said Department shall continue under the auspices and authority of the local Board of Health heretofore appointed by the County Board of Commissioners. The County Health Department shall have all the powers and authorities granted by the state statute, and shall continue to operate under the ordinances of the county regulating the health laws within the county.
