§ 33.29 DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY (POLICE).
   (A)   There is hereby created the Office of Director of Public Safety of the City of Heath, which shall be filled by some suitable person who possesses all of the qualifications prescribed by the City Council. The officer shall be appointed by the City Council and shall hold office for one year from September 1 to August 31, and until his or her successor is appointed and qualified.
   (B)   The person occupying the office of Director of Public Safety shall by virtue of the appointment and the exercise of the duties thereof be and become a member of the Department of Public Safety, and shall be subject to all of the ordinances and laws applicable to police officers, including all laws presently enforced and which may be hereafter enacted.
   (C)   The Director of Public Safety shall, before entering upon the duties of his or her office, take the oath of office prescribed by the State Constitution.
