(A) Stop signs shall be erected at the following intersections and those intersections are hereby designated as stop intersections. Every driver of a vehicle approaching such a stop intersection shall stop before entering the crosswalk on the rear side of the intersection, or, in the event there is no crosswalk, shall stop at a clearly marked stop line, but if there is no such line, then at the point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a view of the approaching traffic of the intersecting roadway before entering the intersection, except when directed to proceed by a police officer or traffic control device. All streets located under the word “On” are the streets on which stop signs are ordered and authorized to be placed at their intersection with the street listed in the same subparagraph of in the column immediately to the left, headed by the word “At”:

(B) That stop signs in conformity with the manual and specifications for uniform traffic control devices as adopted by the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation shall be and are hereby directed to be erected by the city Director of Public Safety, or his or her duly authorized agent, in accordance with the state law at the locations specified in division (A) above
