There is hereby created within the city pursuant to KRS 65.8801 to KRS 65.8839, a Code Enforcement Board which shall be composed of no fewer than five members and two alternates, all of whom shall be residents of the city for a period of at least one year prior to the creation of the Board and shall reside there throughout the term in office.
(A) Alternate members. The Board of Commissioners shall appoint two alternate members who shall be called by the Code Enforcement Board Chairman during the absence or disqualification of a member. Alternate members shall possess the same qualifications required for Board membership, and shall be appointed for five years or until a successor has been appointed.
(B) Jurisdiction. The Code Enforcement Board shall have jurisdiction over and shall enforce City of Hazard Code of Ordinances and all other ordinances herein or hereafter adopted or amended which specifically provide for enforcement by citation officers, code enforcement officers or the Code Enforcement Board in the manner set forth in this division.
