The Fire Chief shall have the power to grant an exemption from the application of this subchapter upon request in writing so to do when a request shows that enforcement of this subchapter will cause unnecessary hardship to the petitioner. A request for exemption shall not be granted where the requested use will constitute a distinct distinct hazard to life or adjoining property. The particulars of exemptions when granted shall be entered upon the permit issued. A copy thereof shall be retained by the Fire Chief.
