The regulations set forth in this chapter apply to all lots and parcels in the municipal boundaries of the city. Except as provided in this chapter, no person shall erect, maintain or alter any sign, or cause or permit the same to be done, in violation of the provisions of this chapter. No person in control of any premises in the city shall permit thereon any sign which violates the provisions of this chapter. Nothing in this chapter is intended to permit the erection or maintenance of any sign at a place or in any manner unlawful under state or federal law. Where provisions of this chapter are more restrictive than state law, the provision of this chapter shall apply. (Ord. 193, 8-12-2003)
