(A) Aboveground storage tanks containing flammable liquids shall be diked or the entire yard provided with a curb or retaining wall or other suitable means taken to prevent the discharge of liquid onto other property in case of rupture of tank or piping. The impounding basin shall have a capacity equal to that of the largest tank, plus 10% of the aggregate capacity of all other tanks so protected. The provisions of this section shall be complied with within one year from the date of the passage of the ordinance codified in this subchapter in case of existing storage facilities.

(B) All tanks shall be electrically grounded by resting directly on moist earth or otherwise electrically grounded to permanent moisture in an approved manner. No insulated connections shall be permitted. Every tank shall have some form of emergency relief construction, to be approved by the town inspector. The location of bulk fuel stations shall be approved by the Board of Trustees and the town inspector.

(C) (1) No combustible material, except wooden docks, shall be permitted on the premises and the entire premises shall be kept free of weeds and trash.
(2) Open light or flame shall be kept away from the vicinity of tanks or piping containing flammable liquids.
