A. Plumbing Code Created: There is created and established, in and for the Village of Hawthorn Woods, the Hawthorn Woods Plumbing Code.
B. Adoption Of The State Of Illinois Plumbing Code: The State of Illinois Plumbing Code, 77 Administrative Code, part 890, "The Illinois Plumbing Code" by this reference is hereby incorporated herein in its entirety and adopted as the Hawthorn Woods Plumbing Code with the amendments contained herein.
The Hawthorn Woods Plumbing Code is adopted as the rules and regulations for equipment, fixtures, appliances, or piping as used or intended for use as water supply system or sewage disposal system that can affect the public health, in the Village of Hawthorn Woods, Lake County, Illinois, and shall be applicable to existing or proposed water supply and sewage disposal systems. The installation, repair or extension of the building drain and building sewer shall also comply with the provisions of this Code and the Illinois Plumbing License Act.
C. WaterSense Fixtures Required: Pursuant to 17 Ill. Adm. Code 3730.307(c)4) and subject to the Illinois Plumbing Code (77 Ill. Adm. Code 890) and the Lawn Irrigation Contractor and Lawn Sprinkler System Registration Code (77 Ill. Adm. Code 892), be it hereby ordained that in the Village of Hawthorn Woods all new plumbing fixtures and irrigation controllers installed after the effective date of this section shall bear the WaterSense label (as designed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency WaterSense Program), when such labeled fixtures are available.

Section 890.1150 Water Service Pipe Installation
Replace Item a) 3) with "The minimum depth of any water service in the Village of Hawthorn Woods shall not be less than five-feet (5') six (6") below the finished grade."
Section 890.1190 - Water Supply Control Valves and Meter
Paragraph (F) Delete "Buildings Other Than Dwellings" from the first and second line and insert "In All Buildings", Add as an additional requirement that line valves or stops shall be installed on all fixtures, including showers.

E. Water Heaters And Laundry Machines: In all new construction, all water heaters and laundry machines installed over finished ceilings shall have a drip pan, piped to a vented floor drain.
