6-7-4: NOTICE:
Whenever a police officer has probable cause to believe that a vehicle is subject to seizure and impoundment pursuant to this chapter, the police officer shall provide for the towing of the vehicle to a facility authorized by the village except as otherwise provided in this chapter. Before or at the time the vehicle is towed, the police officer shall make reasonable attempts to notify any person identifying himself as the owner or any person who is found to be in control of the vehicle at the time of the alleged violation, of the fact of the seizure and impoundment of the vehicle and of the owner's right to request a preliminary vehicle impoundment hearing to be conducted pursuant to this chapter. Said vehicle shall be impounded pending the completion of such hearing(s), unless the owner posts with the village a cash bond in the amount of seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00) and pays all towing and storage charges.
