4-4-2: DEFINITIONS:
ACTUAL COST: The cost actually incurred by the Hawley area fire district to replace materials, supplies and equipment expended or damaged in the course of delivering fire service, to the extent the cost is not paid by the fire district's insurer.
CITY: City of Hawley, Clay County, Minnesota.
FIRE SERVICE: Any deployment of firefighting personnel and/or equipment to extinguish a fire or perform any preventative measure in an effort to protect equipment, life, or property in an area threatened by fire. It also includes the deployment of firefighting personnel and/or equipment to provide fire suppression, rescue, extrication, and any other services related to fire and rescue as may occasionally occur.
HAWLEY AREA FIRE DISTRICT OR FIRE DISTRICT: Refers to the "Hawley area fire district", a joint powers entity established among the city of Hawley, Cromwell Township, Highland Grove Township, Parke Township, Eglon Township, Hawley Township, and Skree Township, all located within Clay County, Minnesota, pursuant to Minnesota statutes, section 471.59, to jointly provide fire service to the communities participating in the agreement.
SERVICE AREA: The portion of the city designated as the primary service area to the Hawley area fire district as shown on the map attached to the ordinance codified herein.
SERVICE CHARGE: The charge imposed by the city on a service recipient receiving fire service by the fire district within the service area. The amounts that make up the charges are as established in this chapter.
SERVICE RECIPIENT: Any person or persons receiving fire service delivered by the Hawley area fire district within the service area and includes the owner of any real or personal property on which, or related to which, fire service is provided.
TOWN BOARD: The board of supervisors of one of the following township entities: Eglon, Hawley, Parke, Skree, Cromwell, or Highland Grove, Clay County, Minnesota. (Ord. 265, 4-21-2014)
