This chapter is adopted pursuant to the city of Hawley's authority under Minnesota statutes, sections 415.01, 366.011, and such other law as may apply. The purpose of this chapter is to establish an emergency service charge for fire services delivered by the fire district within the city's service area and to provide a method for collecting the service charge amounts from the recipients of the service. This chapter and the powers conferred by Minnesota statutes, sections 415.01, 366.011, and 366.012 are in addition to and supplemental of, the powers provided the city by any other law to impose and collect a service charge or assessment for a service provided by the city or contracted for by the city.
