A. General Offense: Unless otherwise provided, any person violating any provisions of this City Code shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not to exceed seven hundred dollars ($700.00), or by imprisonment not to exceed ninety (90) days, or both, but in either case the costs of the prosecution may be added 1 .
B. Petty Offense: A petty offense is an offense which is prohibited by statute which does not constitute a crime and for which the sentence of a fine of not more than two hundred dollars ($200.00) may be imposed 2 . (1996 Code)
