For the purpose of carrying out the powers of the park board, there shall be established under the city general fund, a special fund to be called the park board fund. The city council may dedicate to the park board fund such monies as it considers necessary for park purposes. No later than September 1 of each year the park board shall present the city council, in such detail as the city council shall require, an estimate of the financial needs of the board for the ensuing fiscal year. It shall, in the same manner as the city council, and to the same extent, audit claims to be paid from the park board fund. The council shall also audit the expenditures at their meetings and authorize payment from the park board fund. (Ord. 241, 3-13-2006)
