2-1-4: JURISDICTION:
The park board shall have jurisdiction over all park property of the city, including park areas, ball diamonds, the skating rink, and all other property generally considered as park or recreation property. Additionally, the park board shall have jurisdiction over street trees (title 7, chapter 4 of this code) and the shade tree program (title 7, chapter 3 of this code). The park board may, with the approval of the city council, acquire land for park purposes, but the park board shall have full, absolute and exclusive control over all property set aside for park purposes. The park board may establish, improve, ornament, maintain, protect, and manage the use of the parks, parkways and recreational facilities under its jurisdiction. (Ord. 200, 6-22-1994; amd.
