If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section, or part of this code shall, for any reason, be adjudged by any court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, inoperative or unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remaining portions of this code, but shall be confined in its operation to the clause, sentence, paragraph, section of, or part thereof directly adjudged to be invalid and inoperative or unconstitutional.
