§ 33.45 DEPARTMENTS.
   (A)   Police Department.
      (1)   Department created. There hereby is created a Police Department of the City of Havelock.
      (2)   Purpose. The Police Department shall exist to perform law enforcement and public safety on behalf of the City.
      (3)   Employment and administration of personnel. Police Department personnel, in such number as from time to time shall be approved by the Board of Commissioners, shall be employed under the supervision of the Police Chief as Department Head. The Police Chief shall coordinate and direct the activities of the Police Department personnel, and all Police Department personnel shall report to the Police Chief. Employment and administration of Police Department personnel shall be subject to the Personnel Policy of the City of Havelock.
      (4)   Dismissal or suspension of personnel. Dismissal or suspension of personnel in the Police Department shall be in accordance with the Personnel Policy of the City of Havelock.
      (5)   Policies and regulations. The Police Chief may promulgate and enforce police policies and regulations not inconsistent with this chapter or the Personnel Policy of the City.
   (B)   Fire and Rescue Department.
      (1)   Department created. There hereby is created a Fire and Rescue Department of the City of Havelock.
      (2)   Purpose. The Fire and Rescue Department shall exist to perform fire protection and rescue on behalf of the City.
      (3)   Employment and administration of personnel. Fire and Rescue Department personnel, in such number as from time to time shall be approved by the Board of Commissioners, shall be employed under the supervision of the Fire Chief as Department Head. The Fire Chief shall coordinate and direct the activities of the Fire and Rescue Department personnel, and all Fire and Rescue Department personnel shall report to the Fire Chief. Employment and administration of Fire and Rescue personnel shall be subject to the Personnel Policy of the City of Havelock.
      (4)   Dismissal or suspension of personnel. Dismissal or suspension of personnel in the Fire and Rescue Department shall be in accordance with the Personnel Policy of the City of Havelock.
      (5)   Policies and regulations. The Fire Chief may promulgate and enforce Fire and Rescue policies and regulations not inconsistent with this chapter or the Personnel Policy of the City of Havelock.
