The person or employee as the City Manager may appoint shall be the Fire Inspector of the City and he or she shall possess the powers and perform all of the duties prescribed by G.S. §§ 160D-1104 et seq., other statutes and ordinances of the City applicable thereto and shall perform the other duties as may be prescribed by the North Carolina State Building Code, Vol. V, Fire Prevention. He or she shall receive the compensation as set by the Board of Commissioners.
