The City Manager shall appoint the Building Inspector of the City and he or she shall possess the powers and perform all the duties prescribed by G.S. §§ 160D-1104 et seq. and other statutes and ordinances of the City applicable thereto. He or she shall possess the further power and perform the further duties as may be prescribed by this chapter. He or she shall receive the compensation as set by the Board of Commissioners.
