(A) The purpose of the annual inspection shall be to determine whether a motorized bicycle is safe and in compliance with the terms and provisions of this chapter and with any other applicable laws of the state. Said inspection shall include a review of the financial responsibility associated with the motorized bicycle.
(B) A motorized bicycle must be inspected on an annual basis by the Police Department of the city. The inspection cost shall be $10 per motorized bicycle per inspection.
(C) Upon completion of an adequate inspection, a motorized bicycle shall be registered by the Police Department of the city and shall be issued a permit for operation each year beginning January 1. Said permit shall be posted in plain view on the body of the motorized bicycle at all times.
(D) The owner of a motorized bicycle must renew said motorized bicycle’s inspection annually. The Police Department of the city shall maintain a record of inspections.
