§ 72.05 INSPECTION AND PERMITTING.
   (A)   The purpose of the annual inspection shall be to determine whether a golf cart is safe and in compliance with the terms and provisions of this chapter and with any other applicable laws of the state. Said inspection shall include a review of the financial responsibility associated with the golf cart.
   (B)   A golf cart must be inspected on an annual basis by the City Police Department. The inspection cost shall be $25 per golf cart per inspection.
   (C)   Upon completion of an adequate inspection, the golf cart shall be registered by the City Police Department and shall be issued a permit for operation during the remaining months of the year immediately succeeding said registration. Said permit shall be posted in plain view on the rear of the golf cart at all times.
   (D)   (1)   The owner of the golf cart must renew said golf cart inspection on a yearly basis prior to operating said golf cart on certain city streets, roadways, intersections and alleys located within the city.
      (2)   The City Police Department shall maintain a record of inspection.
