(a) The owner, occupant, lessee and the like, or other person (including partnerships and corporations) responsible for maintaining any fire alarm system shall be assessed the sum of $300.00 for each false alarm which requires a response by the Department of Fire.
(b) The assessment set forth in division (a) of this section shall be waived if, within ten days of each false alarm response, the person responsible for maintaining the fire alarm system submits to the Director of the Department of Fire written evidence from the fire alarm company that the fire alarm system malfunction has been attended to and repaired.
(c) In the event the requirement set forth in division (b) of this section is not met, the Director of the Department of Fire shall notify the Director of Finance who shall send a written statement to the person responsible for the malfunctioning alarm system setting forth the assessment.
(d) If the assessment is not paid within 30 days of its submission as set forth in division (c), the Director of Finance shall refer the matter to the Director of Law for his further action.
