(a) The Director shall be authorized to fix reasonable charges for the removal, testing, and reinstallation of water meters upon application of consumers.
(b) When requested by the owner or his agent, the Water Department will test a meter. If upon testing, the meter is found to be registering more water than actually is passing through it, and the difference is in excess of the tolerance permitted by the American Water Works Association standards, no charges shall be made. Otherwise, the owner or his agent shall pay a service charge as determined by the Director, based on current costs to the Water Department to test the meter. (Ord. 18-93. Passed 7-20-93.)
