A. The medical director shall:
1. Promulgate a system standard of care designed to achieve a state of the art medical quality of emergency medical care within the service area.
2. Prescribe EMS data system and reporting standards by rule or regulation.
3. Prescribe and administer written and practical tests for the certification and licensing of emergency medical personnel and ambulance vehicles.
4. Prescribe and administer a first responder program and an EMT/D (emergency medical technician/defibrillator) program.
5. The salary of the medical director shall be borne pro rata by providers.
6. The medical director shall be appointed by the city council. The Midwest City hospital board of governors shall be consulted by the city council prior to making its appointment. (Ord. 1990-2, 2-15-1990)
