Keeping, breeding and maintenance of chickens shall be permitted on the following conditions:
A. At no time shall more than six (6) adult chickens be permitted.
B. At no time shall roosters be permitted.
C. All chicken coops or other facility for keeping chickens shall be enclosed and shall be of such sufficient size and design and constructed of such material that it can be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.
D. The construction and location of the chicken coop shall require a permit and shall not conflict with the requirements of any building code or zoning code of the city and such chicken coop shall be no less than forty feet (40') from the nearest neighboring property and shall be located on a lot of no less than two thousand (2,000) square feet.
E. In the maintenance of the chickens, all other ordinances shall be complied with except where in specific conflict with the provisions of this section. (Ord. 2015-08, 4-16-2015)
