The following definitions shall apply in the interpretation of this chapter, unless a different meaning is clearly indicated to the contrary:
BUSINESS DAY: Monday through Friday, both inclusive, but excluding holidays.
GUARD SERVICE: Stationary armed guards serving private citizens at a particular and specified place or location.
PATROL SERVICE: A motorized armed patrol serving private citizens or companies in a specified geographical area, which area shall be established by naming the streets forming the exterior boundaries of the area serviced.
PERMANENT SECURITY SERVICE: Regularly armed scheduled service furnished hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or for any other period at a specified area, place or location.
PRIVATE SECURITY COMPANY: An organization or security system offering services as an independent contractor and employing armed private security officers. A one man operation shall not be considered a private security company.
PRIVATE SECURITY OFFICER: Any person providing patrol or guard service as an independent contractor and authorized to carry firearms under the provisions of this chapter.
TEMPORARY SECURITY SERVICE: Service not offered on a regularly scheduled basis. (Prior code § 5-12)
