A general election shall be held in the city on the first Tuesday in April of every odd numbered year to elect the mayor and council members for wards 1 and 3 for the following two (2) year term. A general election shall be held in the city on the first Tuesday in April of every even numbered year to elect council members for wards 2 and 4 for the following two (2) year term.
