A. The city council may determine its own rules, and may compel the attendance of absent members in the manner and under penalties as the city council may prescribe. Whenever a council member is absent from more than one-half (1/2) of all meetings of the city council, regular and special, held within any period of four (4) consecutive months, he shall thereupon cease to hold office. Robert's rules of order, revised, shall govern parliamentary procedure of the city council unless otherwise provided by this code or city council.
B. The order of business for each meeting of the city council shall be in accordance with the open meetings act. (1986 Code)
