§ 30.23 UNIFORM STANDARDS FOR COMMUNICATIONS WITH HOSPITAL.
   (A)   Purpose. To establish uniform standards for proper communications with hospital staff.
   (B)   Policy.
      (1)   All hospital communications will be transmitted on frequency 155.340 - Channel 3.
      (2)   The EMT responsible for the patient(s) will transmit the situation to the receiving hospital in the following manner: Receiving facility - EMS (36) on 340 - wait for acknowledgment - EMS (36) 10-17 to your facility with:
         (a)   Number of patients;
         (b)   If trauma case-advise type;
         (c)   Age and sex;
         (d)   Major complaints and personal observations about patient;
         (e)   Vital signs;
         (f)   Treatment tendered;
         (g)   Pertinent medical history;
         (h)   Advise patient’s name and doctor, only if requested by emergency room;
         (I)   If more than one patient is being transported, after transmitting first patient information make sure hospital has a 10-2 copy and go ahead with further communications;
         (j)   Advise emergency room if patient is ambulatory;
         (k)   Units estimated E.T.A.; and
         (l)   Acknowledge hospital on room orders and clear unit.
      (3)   If Channel 340 is 10-7 or unable to contact hospital, switch over to 760. If still unable to contact hospital, 10-5 only pertinent information to Central.
      (4)   Upon completion of patient information to the receiving emergency facility, the unit will switch back to Central (frequency 155.760 Channel).
