(A) Purpose. To establish a uniform transportation policy for sick or injured inmates to medical facilities.
(B) Policy.
(1) The position of the Division of Prisons is that medical decisions during emergencies will be made by County Emergency Medical personnel in attendance.
(2) In a life-threatening situation involving a Department of Correction inmate, County Emergency Medial personnel shall transport to the closest medical facility.
(3) In non-life-threatening situations involving a Department of Correction inmate, transportation to Central Prison Hospital is desirable; however, County Emergency Medical personnel will transport to any local medical facility at the request of the Department of Correction.
(4) Any inmate transported from the County Jail will not be charged (place on charge ticket County Jail).
