§ 30.09 DAILY STATION CLEAN-UP.
   (A)   Purpose. To establish guidelines to ensure that each EMS station is properly cleaned each day.
   (B)   Policy.
      (1)   The EMS workday will begin promptly at 7:00 a.m. and end the next morning at 7:00 a.m., or as soon thereafter as possible. Personnel may relieve a member of the off-going shift between the hours of 6:30 a.m. through 7:00 a.m. if approved in advance.
      (2)   The first daily responsibility will be to check and supply each unit. This responsibility should start promptly at 7:00 a.m. and the driver should determine if the unit can be safely operated and the attendant should check the equipment according to the standard checklist.
      (3)   Each of the following areas should be cleaned daily.
         (a)   Bathrooms.
            1.   Floors swept and mopped;
            2.   Commodes cleaned and scrubbed;
            3.   Laboratories cleaned and scrubbed;
            4.   Windows and mirrors cleaned;
            5.   Shelves and walls dusted;
            6.   Ample towel, tissue, and soap;
            7.   Shower cleaned; and
            8.   Trash cans emptied and new liner installed (at the beginning of each shift).
         (b)   Sleeping area.
            1.   Floors cleaned;
            2.   Shelves dusted;
            3.   Windows cleaned;
            4.   Trash removed;
            5.   Mattresses turned on Mondays;
            6.   Night stands cleaned and dusted;and
            7.   Lockers cleaned and dusted.
         (c)   Supervisor’s office.
            1.   Vacuum carpet;
            2.   Empty trash; and
            3.   Dust and clean.
         (d)   Apparatus floor.
            1.   Clean water cooler each day; and
            2.   Clean and wash bay area each day.
         (e)   Kitchen.
            1.   Stove will be cleaned each day inside and outside; and
            2.   Clean refrigerator, anything left in the refrigerator over three days will be thrown away. Frozen items will be kept.
      (4)   If a shift elects to cook at a station, it will be that shift’s responsibility to clean the kitchen area as soon as possible after each meal.
      (5)   If a crew elects to eat out during their 24-hour shift, they must:
         (a)   Take the ambulance, but remain 10-8 during the meal; and
         (b)   Remain within their respective service area.
      (6)   Two ambulance units from station will not clear for meals at the same time away from the station. If one unit is being dispatched or is on a call, the second unit will remain at the station until the other unit is cleared for service (10-8).
      (7)   Wake-up time at all EMS stations will be no later than 6:30 a.m.
