(A) Purpose. To ensure uniformity of practices pertaining to official information released to the news media.
(B) Policy.
(1) All official news information concerning any patient or situation must first be authorized by the Director or a supervisor.
(2) The Director/supervisors will comply with the same standards followed by the area hospital emergency departments concerning patient confidentiality.
(3) Questions pertaining to the administration and operation of county government and the county’s EMS should be directed to the County Manager through the Director.
