10-1-7: SUITABILITY OF SUBDIVIDED LAND; PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS:
It is declared to be the policy of the city to consider the development of land within the jurisdiction of the city subject to the control of the city and to adopt development regulations to facilitate accomplishment of the goals and objectives of any comprehensive plans of the city for the orderly, planned, efficient and economical development of the city. It shall be the general policy of the city that:
   A.   All land to be subdivided shall be of such character that it can be used safely for building purposes without danger to health or peril from fire, flood or other menace.
   B.   Land shall not be subdivided until all available public facilities and improvements exist or have been given proper consideration by the city council and proper provision has been made for improvements such as schools, parks, recreation facilities, transportation facilities and improvements.
   C.   All existing and proposed public improvements shall conform to and be properly related to any proposals shown in a comprehensive plan, official map or capital budget and program of the city. (Ord. 151, 8-14-1995)
