§ 33.012 FUNCTIONS OFFICIALS ARE AUTHORIZED TO ATTEND.
   (A)   All elected officials and employees of the town are authorized to attend all functions of the following list of organizations if their attendance is in the best interest of said town:
      (1)   Indiana Street Commissioners Association;
      (2)   Indiana Water Association, Inc.;
      (3)   American Water Works Association;
      (4)   Southern Indiana Operators Association;
      (5)   Water Pollution Control Federation;
      (6)   Indiana Water Pollution Control Association;
      (7)   Madison Area Chamber of Commerce;
      (8)   Indiana Association of Cities and Towns;
      (9)   Indiana League of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers;
      (10)   Indiana Department of Environmental Management;
      (11)   Indiana State Board of Accounts;
      (12)   Indiana State Board of Tax Commissioners;
      (13)   Indiana State Police;
      (14)   City of Madison Police Department;
      (15)   Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department;
      (16)   National Association of Chiefs of Police; and
      (17)   Fraternal Order of Police.
   (B)   The town shall reimburse said employees or elected officials who furnish proper receipts for the following expenses incurred while attending these functions: lodging expenses not to exceed the single room rate per night for each night preceding and during the meeting dates with the exception of those nights when a room is shared with another town employee or elected official, in which case the full room rate will be reimbursed; registration fees and activities planned by the sponsoring agent; mileage at the current federal rate per mile to the person furnishing the conveyance for each mile necessarily traveled to the place of the meeting and return; and meals not to exceed $24 per day.
