§ 32.019 RESPONSIBILITIES, PERSONAL CONDUCT, AND RELATIONSHIP OF EMPLOYEES.
   (A)   Employees in charge of shifts shall:
      (1)   Be responsible for the proper conduct of the business of the Department within their jurisdiction;
      (2)   Make sure all reports that are required by the Department are properly made and handled;
      (3)   Endorse and forward all official request originated by employees subordinate to them;
      (4)   Assign specific duties to the employees subordinate to them and review their work periodically for performance;
      (5)   Maintain good order and cleanliness among the offices, equipment, buildings, and other items over which they may have jurisdiction; and
      (6)   Cooperate with other official and private agencies in a reasonable manner to advance the cause of law enforcement, safety, and crime prevention.
   (B)   In fulfilling their responsibilities to the Department, all employees shall:
      (1)   Obey all public laws;
      (2)   Obey the regulations of the Department and the commands of superior officers;
      (3)   Completely perform such duties as are reasonably assigned to them;
      (4)   Refrain from engaging in any other activity, business, trade, or occupation that takes priority over their obligations to the Department, or that would limit their effectiveness in the discharge of their official duties, or that would tend to reflect discredit to the Department;
      (5)   Appear and remain at the work assigned during the hours and days prescribed by their superiors;
      (6)   Request permission for absence of leave in advance, and when ill or injured, notify the officer in charge as soon as possible;
      (7)   Be available through channels known to their superiors for calls;
      (8)   Inpart the official business of the Department only to whom it is intended or under due process of law;
      (9)   Truthfully and accurately render such reports as required by the Department or by a superior officer;
      (10)   Be accountable for the preservation and proper use of all property assigned to them for official use;
      (11)   Exercise due courtesy to and consideration for all persons with whom they may come into contact; and
      (12)   Refrain from criticizing the order of decisions of a superior officer or a subordinate, in public or outside the Department.
