In the event a violation of § 90.21 involves a vicious dog, the court shall order the offender to obtain liability insurance pursuant to § 90.21; and the court, in addition to any other penalty, shall also order that the vicious dog be humanely destroyed by a licensed veterinarian, the county animal control officer, or the county animal shelter and that the offender shall pay all expenses, including shelter, food, veterinary, and/or destruction expenses necessitated by the seizure of any dog for the protection of the public or the violation of § 90.21.
