§ 30.01  VILLAGE PRESIDENT.
   (A)   Election; term of office. The Village President shall be elected for a term of four years, and he or she shall be the President of the Board of Trustees, as is provided by statute.
   (B)   Bond, oath and salary. Before entering upon the duties of his or her office, the President shall give a bond with sureties to be approved by the Board of Trustees conditioned upon the faithful performance of his or her duties, in a sum as determined by the Board. He or she shall take the oath of office as prescribed by statute, and shall receive a compensation as may be set from time to time by the Board. (See division (A) above.)
   (C)   Duties.
      (1)   The President shall be the chief executive officer of the village, and he or she shall perform all the duties as may be required of him or her by statute or ordinance. He or she shall have supervision over all the executive officers of the village and over all of the employees of the village. He or she shall have the power and authority to inspect all books and records kept by any village officer or employee at any reasonable time.
      (2)   Whenever there is a question as to the respective powers or duties of any appointed officer of the village, this shall be settled by the President; and the President shall have the power to delegate to any officer any duty which is to be performed when no specific officer has been directed to perform the duty.
   (D)   President Pro Tem. During the temporary absence or disability of the Village President, the Board of Trustees shall elect one of its number to act as President Pro Tem who, during the absence or disability of the President, shall perform the duties pertaining to the office.
