For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
GOLF CART. The meaning defined in 625 ILCS 5/1-123.9, namely, a vehicle specifically designed and intended for the purposes of transporting one or more persons and their golf clubs or maintenance equipment while engaged in the playing of golf, supervising the play of golf or maintaining the condition of the grounds on a public or private golf course; provided, however, that, the term shall not include all-terrain vehicles (ATV); mopeds; snowmobiles; riding lawn mowers or any low-speed vehicle, as defined in 625 ILCS 5/1-140.7; a low-speed electric bicycle, as defined in 625 ILCS 5/1-140.10; or a low-speed gas bicycle, as defined in 625 ILCS 5/1-140.15.
NON-HIGHWAY VEHICLE. A motor vehicle not specifically designed to be used on a public highway, including:
(1) An all-terrain vehicle (ATV) as defined by § 1-101.8 of the Illinois Vehicle Code;
(2) An off-highway motorcycle, including dirt bikes, as defined by § 1-153.1 of the Illinois Vehicle Code; and
(3) Recreational off-highway vehicles, including UTVs ("utility task vehicles"), as defined by § 1-168.8 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
VILLAGE STREETS. Any of the streets within the boundaries of the village, except for state and county roads.
