It shall be unlawful for the owner or occupant of any building in said city, the roof or eave of which building protrudes or extends over any sidewalk thereof, to suffer or permit any snow or ice to accumulate or remain upon said roofs or eaves endangering the persons or travelers upon said sidewalk.
