The following sections and subsections of the Uniform Traffic Code for cities, townships and villages are hereby amended or deleted as set forth and additional sections and subsections are added as indicated. Subsequent section numbers used in this subchapter shall refer to the like numbered section of the Uniform Traffic Code.
(A) 3.1a - Section added to read:
3.1a. CURRENT REGULATIONS. All intersection stops and yield right-of-way requirements, regulations on stopping, standing or parking: one-way streets, roadways, and alleys; crosswalks; restricted turns; through streets, play streets; truck routes; angle parking zones; all-night parking restrictions; curb loading zones; public carrier stands; parking meter zones and spaces; weight restrictions; no passing zones; speed limits and traffic control devices heretofore established by the City of Hancock and effective on the effective date of the Code shall be deemed established hereunder and shall remain effective until rescinded or modified as herein provided.
(B) 5.61 - Section amended to read:
5.61. RESTRICTIONS ON COMMERCIAL VEHICLES USING CITY STREETS. When signs designate a truck route within the City, commercial vehicles shall not depart therefrom unless the vehicle:
(1) Is making a local delivery.
(2) Is used by a local public utility in conduct of its authorized business.
(3) Serves a contractor on a local construction project. However, for loads in excess of two (2) tons, clearance shall be obtained beforehand from the Chief of Police.
In each of the foregoing expectations; the shortest travel from and back to the posted route shall be taken.
(C) 8.25, 8.26 - Section added to read:
8.25. ALL NIGHT PARKING PROHIBITED. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to stop, stand, or park a vehicle, or to cause or to permit a vehicle to be parked or left unattended between the hours of 2:00 A.M. and 7:00 A.M. of any day on any of the streets or highways of the city during the period from November 1 through April 30.
8.26. WINTER PARKING. During the period November 1 through April 30, it shall be unlawful for any person to park any motor vehicle or trailer on any sidewalk that is maintained by the City for pedestrian traffic.
(D) 9.6.- Section added to read:
9.6. SCHEDULE OF PENALTY FINES. A schedule of traffic violation fines with reference to specific sections in the Uniform Traffic Code are included in § 70.99 of this title.
9.7. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall become effective 10 days after passage thereof.
