The Beautification Commission is established to promote the beautification of the city including but not limited to recommendations for beautification of streets, alleys, parks, playgrounds, yards, lots and buildings; to study, develop plans for improving the health, sanitation, and cleanliness of the city; to encourage and recommend the placing, planting and preservation of trees, flowers, plants, shrubbery and other objects of ornamentation in the city; to sponsor, plan, promote, coordinate and carry out the annual community wide clean-ups, and to otherwise promote public interest in the general improvement of the appearance of the city.
