(A) All appointments shall be conducted by Mayor with the approval of Council.
(B) Members appointed shall be appointed for terms of three years unless otherwise stated in this code and the terms shall commence on January 1 with expiration on December 31. Mid term appointment terminates on December 31.
(C) The quorum shall be a majority of appointed members attending.
(D) All boards shall consist of at least 50% of members as residents of the City of Hamtramck unless otherwise stated in this code or state law. Members of boards and commission should reflect the broad ethnic, racial and religious diversity that exists in the city.
(E) Removal. The Mayor may remove a commissioner with approval by the City Council.
(F) Replacement. In the event of death, resignation or other termination of membership, the Mayor shall appoint a successor for the balance of the unexpired term.
(G) Vacancies. The office of any member shall become vacant upon the occurrence of one or more of the following events before the expiration of the term of office:
(1) For any reason specified by state law creating a vacancy in public office;
(2) When a member shall miss two consecutive regular meetings of the commission, unless the absence, shall be excused by the commission and the reason therefore entered in the proceedings of the commission.
