§ 152.002 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   MAJOR SIDEWALK CAFÉ. A sidewalk café operation serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. Businesses operating a MAJOR SIDEWALK CAFÉ are required to hold a city issued, City Council approved license that conforms to the procedures and regulations of this chapter.
   MINOR SIDEWALK CAFÉ. A sidewalk café operation serving only nonalcoholic beverages. Businesses operating a MINOR SIDEWALK CAFÉ are required to hold a city issued, City Council approved license that conforms to the procedures and regulations of this chapter.
   SIDEWALK CAFÉ. An outdoor dining area located on a public sidewalk that is public through dedication or easement or public right-of-way; that provides wait staff service or counter service; that contains readily removable tables, chairs and railings; and that may contain planters. It is otherwise unenclosed by fixed walls and is open to the air, except that it may have awnings, umbrellas or other non-permanent covers.
