In all prosecutions under this subchapter, possession by any dealer, distributor, wholesaler or person, firm, partnership or corporation in the business of buying and selling of any motor, appliance or mechanical device with the manufacturer’s serial or motor number removed, defaced or altered or with a part bearing the number replaced by one on which the proper number does not appear, shall be prima facie evidence of violation of the provision of this subchapter.
