It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partnership or corporation, to conceal or misrepresent the identity of any motor, household appliance or mechanical device by removing or defacing the manufacturer’s serial or motor number or by altering or replacing any part of the motor, appliance or mechanical device bearing the serial or motor number with a new or replaced part upon which the proper serial or motor number has not been stamped or placed.
